Getting started

I am starting this blog to create a professional network for teachers and teachers in training . I am currently a re-entry student at the University of Washington-Bothell working on my Masters in Education with secondary credentials in Social Studies and History. I want to develop this blog as a resource for educational information, teaching tools, and general information. I look forward to expanding my knowledge within the profession and colaberating with teachers, or soon to be teachers as this blog grows. Let the building begin.

Mark, being your classmate, I am in the same boat as you. I was wondering if you could share more about why you want to be a teacher.

You and I are similar in that we both have coaching experience. You, baseball, and me, swimming. I feel like coaching and teaching swimming lessons has given me a good base for a career in teaching as it has given me opportunities to work with parents and children. Have you dealt with a situation with a parent or child that you feel has prepared you for a situation you might deal with in the classroom? Could you share a little bit about it?
